Industrial Applications
Sodium Citrate is widely used in personal care products as a buffering agent, chelating agent, and pH adjuster. It helps maintain formulation stability, prevents metal-induced degradation, and enhances product performance in shampoos, lotions, creams, and oral care products, including mouthwashes and toothpaste. It is used in ice cream to keep fat globules from sticking, and acts as a buffering agent in soft drinks.
Physical Properties
Sodium Citrate is a white, water-soluble crystalline powder. It has good stability under normal storage conditions and readily dissolves in aqueous systems, making it easy to incorporate into a variety of cosmetic and personal care formulations.
