Industrial Application
Di(4-Methylbenzoyl) Peroxide is an organic peroxide used as a free-radical initiator in a wide range of industrial polymerization processes. It is particularly effective for vinyl monomers, acrylics, styrenic compounds, and copolymers, where its predictable decomposition allows controlled radical generation, uniform polymer chain growth, and consistent molecular weight distribution. In the plastics industry, it is employed to produce high-quality polymers such as PVC, polyethylene, and acrylics with enhanced mechanical properties, thermal stability, and processability. Physical Properties
Dibenzoyl Peroxide is an organic peroxide that appears as a white crystalline powder or granular solid with a faint, benzaldehyde-like odor. It is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, chloroform, and ether. Highly reactive and thermally unstable, it readily decomposes to release free radicals, making it a powerful initiator in free-radical polymerization processes.
