Reagent Alcohol
Reagent alcohol is ethanol that has additives to make it approved for use in laboratories, hospitals, clinics, etc. without the need for an Industrial Alcohol User Permit or a Specially Denatured Spirits Permit. In the laboratory, it is used mainly as a analytical solvent. Reagent alcohol is available in 190 Proof or 200 Proof and denatured with either 5% Methanol or 5% IPA.
